The caregivers assigned to my mother had the upmost concern for her well-being. They provided excellent daily care and showed her whatever her needs might be that they were there for her. She felt their compassion, and it made her comfortable to be with them in her home. Watching and listening to them work along side my mother gave me reassurance that she was being well taken care of.

We had to relocate them to an apt in Houston,TX on very short notice due to the emergency. Having utilized Home Instead in our hometown for a number of years, I made a call to this Home Instead agency in Houston. The response was fast and Home Instead had us set up and receiving care for my parents within just days of the call. We have 2 providers for my parents, both of whom have been very good with my parents. We are very pleased with the responsiveness, the quality of services and the quality of caregivers provided by Home Instead. I highly recommend them, Miss Violet and Miss Lisa in particular do a great job. Federal law requires all nursing homes to provide enough staff to safely care for residents. However, there is no current federal standard for the best nursing home staffing levels. The staffing rating takes into account differences in the levels of residents' care needs in each nursing home. For example, a nursing home with residents that have more health problems would be expected to have more nursing staff than a nursing home where the residents need less health care. We needed help withe the daily tasks for my Uncle.

The only thing that I would like better is when new caregivers get assigned to me, that they be introduced to me prior to working a full shift at the home. We used Home Instead to care for our 96 and 93 year old parents. We wanted to keep our folks in their home of 65 years for as long as possible. We had two great meetings with Greg and shared our needs and concerns. He selected two very talented and caring individuals who came to the house twice daily, morning and evening, to tend to our parents. They communicated with us regularly as we were not always at the residence with our folks.
Our success is measured by how much we lift the spirits of our client regardless of age, disability, or level of care needed. My family has called on Home Instead to assist our father several times over the past 7 years. They are easy to work with and respond quickly to questions and concerns. They are flexible in working with changes in scheduling. More stars mean a better level of staffing per resident. I use for transportation and support to doctors and medical appointments when family is unable to take me. I have gotten along well with each one that has come out. Only thing I would like to have done is a call confirming they have a specific person scheduled so I don’t feel anxious.
Ibrahim, Audrey, Karen, Lane, and April have all been very accommodating. I appreciate that someone is always available, 24 hours, every day. As with any staffing, some personalities mixed better with me than others. Home Instead never made me feel like I was creating problems for them or imposing on them when I would request a different caregiver —they just fixed the staffing situation.
